What are the issues?
Habitat loss and increasing human-elephant conflicts are among the most pressing conservation challenges facing elephants in Africa and Asia. Factors such as fragmented habitats, restricted movement corridors, disrupted social groups, and high human pressure can lead to problematic elephant behavior. Tragically, when conflicts escalate, elephants often end up being killed.
But does it have to end this way? We believe there is a better approach. Our aim is to explore peaceful solutions that promote coexistence, allowing both people and elephants to live in harmony.

What will we do?
We believe it’s essential to understand the root causes of problematic elephant behavior. That’s why we’re developing and promoting science-based, non-violent solutions. Together with other researchers, we investigate what triggers conflicts between humans and elephants and introduce new methods to protect elephants and people.
In 2018, we launched a study in the heart of a human-elephant conflict zone in South Africa. This field research allows us to observe elephants firsthand, identify the challenges, and propose effective solutions. Since then, we have been studying both the animal and human dimensions of these conservation challenges. We welcome your involvement in this important work!
How can you help?
By becoming an adoptive parent, you’ll do more than protect elephants—you’ll also help support research that benefits elephants, local communities, and the environment across Africa and Asia. You’ll receive regular updates on our findings and follow the adventures of the elephants we study through photographs, videos, and project updates.

How does it work?
For a donation of 90 euros a year you are an adoptive parent and support a herd of wild elephants.
We hope you will be a part of this for a long time, but you can, of course, cancel at any moment.

- an adoption certificate with your name
- a series of photographs of the herd of wild elephants
