BTEH is hiring a camera trap field officer for an existing new research project: Estimating the size and social structures of the wild elephant population of Mae Ping- Om Koi Forest Complex.
Your role:
- Manage the deployment and maintenance of camera traps in five protected areas in the Mae Ping-Omkoi Forest Complex, with the intent to survey elephant population, demographics and distribution.
- Develop a database of camera trap images and demographic data, report findings to Bring The Elephant Home and collaborating researchers.
- Communicate with rangers of various protected areas to arrange camera trap maintenance, determine key points for deployment, and establish a camera trap deployment schedule.
- Communication with all relevant stakeholders about the progress of the project.
