We are thrilled to announce that Bring the Elephant Home has reached a groundbreaking milestone with the publication of our multidisciplinary study, “The Role of Alternative Crop Cultivation in Promoting Human-Elephant Coexistence,” in the journal Diversity!
In partnership with local farmers in Ruam Thai Village, we demonstrated that planting alternative crops like lemongrass and citronella can significantly reduce elephant crop damage—by more than 80%!
This pioneering research led by Ave Owen was the catalyst and blueprint for where we find our alternative cropping research and the Tom Yum Project today!
