Introduction Bring The Elephant Home

Bring The Elephant Home is dedicated to ensuring the well-being and survival of Asian elephants, fostering socio-ecological resilience, and striving for a world where both elephants and people can thrive. Our community-based conservation approach, developed over a decade, emphasizes shared decision-making, sustainability, equality, and partnerships. Through our projects, we promote human-elephant coexistence by supporting farmers in elephant-friendly livelihoods and land use, contributing to meaningful coexistence between elephants and people. 

Your Role

The Country Director at Bring The Elephant Home (BTEH) in Thailand will develop financial and operational strategies, lead conservation projects, and build strong partnerships to further BTEH’s mission in Thailand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development for conservation and research projects: 
  • Financial Leadership in budget forecasting, fundraising, grant management, and monitoring financial health: 
  • Project Management: Oversee conservation and research projects, and provide project reports to funders.
  • Staff Management: Recruit and mentor team members and promote a work culture aligned with BTEH’s values. : 
  • Partnership Development: Engage multi-level stakeholders, including universities, NGOs, local communities, and government bodies. 
  • Operational Management: Ensure compliance with local regulations, manage communication, and report to BTEH’s board of directors.
  • Your qualifications
  • Bachelor or higher degree in conservation biology, ecology, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Minimum three years of project management experience. Those with experience in the non-profit or social impact sectors are of particular interest. 
  • Experience in environmental or wildlife conservation. 
  • Experience in multi-level stakeholder management.
  • Strong organizational, and financial management skills.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills. 
  • Thai citizen. Proficient in written and spoken English. 
  • Hold a valid driving license.
